ABOUT SCMA WORLDWIDE
Salvation of Christ Mission Assembly (SCMA) was founded on November 16th, 1971, by Apostle (Dr.) Esther Badejoko Oluwagbamilowoiya. The church’s founding was deeply spiritual and divinely orchestrated, as Apostle Oluwagbamilowoiya recounts a profound vision she received during prayer.
According to her, while praying at her residence in Ayetoro, she was caught up in the spirit after hearing a voice commanding her to follow. In this vision, she encountered a man holding a long rod who instructed her to accompany him. He led her to a particular place in the city, where she was instructed to “look up.” At that moment, she witnessed the heavens opening, revealing a tree with branches filled with lush, green leaves, descending towards where she stood.
The man with the staff then instructed her to stretch forth her hand to receive the tree. She obeyed and took hold of the tree, but its roots remained firmly anchored in heaven. This powerful imagery was followed by the voice telling her that God was planting His church on earth through her, and it was to be called “Ijo Igbala ti Kristi” meaning Salvation of Christ Mission Assembly. The voice also declared that the leaves of the tree symbolized healing and restoration for humanity. When she inquired about the root, the voice explained that it would remain in heaven because enemies might try to uproot it, but such an act would be impossible since it was divinely secured in the heavenly realms.

This foundational vision became the guiding force for the establishment of Salvation of Christ Mission Assembly. The church has since grown to be a beacon of healing, restoration, and divine intervention, serving as a spiritual home for countless individuals who seek God’s power in their lives. The vision of the rooted tree symbolizes the steadfastness and divine protection that the church enjoys, assuring its members that they are part of a work ordained and nurtured by God Himself.
The headquarters of the church, known as SCMA Oke Aanu, is situated at Oore-Ofe Street, Oke-Ijebu, in Akure, Ondo State. The name Oke Aanu, meaning “Mountain of Mercy,” reflects the church’s core mission of offering mercy and restoration to all who come to experience God’s presence.
Over the decades, SCMA has expanded its influence across Nigeria and beyond, becoming a significant force in the Christian community through its focus on spiritual growth, healing, and holistic restoration.
